Appreciation post: Matt's art school critique from last week

I used to think digital art showcases were just about posting your best work and moving on. But a guy named Matt at the online critique group I joined spent 15 minutes breaking down the lighting in my piece and compared it to my older stuff. Has anyone else had a critique that totally shifted how you see your own process?

@caseys30 yeah he pointed out I always avoid hard shadows, that changed everything for me.

So did he point out something specific you had been missing or just give you a new way to look at things?
