Can we talk about the layers tip that Jason in Sacramento gave me on my Krita piece

Jason at the Sacramento figure drawing meetup said to keep every single layer named and grouped before I start coloring, and I nodded along like I always do. Two nights into a 3 character piece I had 47 layers named 'layer 12 copy 3' and I lost an entire afternoon hunting for a shadow pass. Now I name layers as I go and my shading goes way faster. Anyone else have a workflow tip from a random meetup that turned out to be way more useful than it sounded?
