Found out most galleries want 300 dpi files, not what I was sending
Ngl I’ve been uploading my digital art at 72 dpi for like 2 years because screens look fine. Then I tried to submit to a small online gallery in Austin and they rejected my file. Looked it up and turns out most print shops and galleries demand 300 dpi minimum for any physical display. I checked their submission page and it was buried in the FAQ. Now I always export at 300 dpi even if I’m just posting online so I’m ready. Has anyone else lost a submission over file specs like that?

Bruh same thing happened to me with a zine submission last year, I had to resubmit everything and felt like such a noob for not checking the fine print. Now I just save everything at 300 dpi by default and it saves so much headache.

Honestly I gotta push back a little on this one. Like yeah it sucks to resubmit but calling yourself a noob over a dpi mistake feels like a lot of drama. Real talk, 300 dpi has been the standard for print stuff for like forever and most submission pages spell it out in big letters. If someone is doing serious zine work they should probably double check before hitting send anyway. Just saying, saving at 300 dpi by default is smart but acting like it's this huge life lesson seems a bit much.
