Just realized my color saturation was way off after a brutal critique
Someone in a feedback thread told me my digital portraits looked 'like they were lit by a neon sign' lol and I finally fixed it by dropping my saturation to 40% max. Has anyone else had a random comment totally change their process like that?

That 40% thing hits hard. My buddy runs a food truck and he swore his hot sauce recipe was perfect until someone said it tasted like pure vinegar. He dropped the vinegar by half and suddenly people were buying bottles. It's like we get used to our own mistakes and can't see them anymore. The whole world is over-saturated right now, from Instagram filters to store lighting. Sometimes the fix is just cutting back on whatever you've been cranking up too high.

Not sure it's always that deep. Sometimes the 40% thing is just personal taste, not some big life lesson about getting stuck in our own heads. Your buddy nailed it by actually listening to feedback, which most people just ignore.
