My viral piece was remixed without credit, forcing a moral reckoning.

When does transformative use ignore the original artist's labor?

You're conflating ethics with fair use doctrine. The law often prioritizes transformation over acknowledging labor, which is where things get messy.

Labor deserves recognition beyond legal technicalities.

@johnson.jade, your post made me think of a podcast on music sampling and fair use. They said producers often tweak songs just enough to stay legal but don't credit the first artists. The law looks at how much the new song is changed, not the work that went into the old one. Do you think this happens in other areas too?
