Procreate brush packs I was suspicious about turned out to be amazing
I saw this artist on Instagram raving about a brush pack called True Grit Texture Supply and I figured it was just overhyped marketing. I've been burned before buying cheap brush sets that looked nothing like the previews. But I finally caved and grabbed their 'Rusty Nib' pack for like $15 because I wanted that old comic book ink look. Used it on a portrait last weekend and the grain and pressure sensitivity blew me away. It actually made my digital drawing feel like real ink on paper, which I never got from the free default brushes. Now I'm kicking myself for waiting 6 months to try it. Has anyone else found a brush pack that completely changed their art style?

$15 for the Rusty Nib pack sounds about right! I bought the same one a few months ago after seeing an artist I follow use it for their webcomic. That pack really does make digital ink feel like the real thing. @blake302 you're spot on about the line art part, it gives such a nice rough edge that I could never get with the default brushes. I've been using it for my daily sketches now and it honestly feels like cheating sometimes how good the results look.

I was totally in the same boat, thought all the hype was just marketing fluff. But yeah, that Rusty Nib pack is legit, it totally changed how my line art looks.

Hold on everyone, is it really that big of a game changer? I spent $15 on a brush pack before and it was just a bunch of basic textures I could have made myself in five minutes. I feel like people get excited about stuff because it's new, not because it's actually that good. Does it really do more than just add some noise to the stroke? I just don't see how a brush pack can be "legit" enough to totally change your art if you already know how to draw. Feels like hype to me.
