Spent 3 years using just a mouse for digital painting, finally got a tablet last month

Honestly I thought I was doing fine with a mouse for years. Did all my lineless shading and blending with it, even drew a whole 50 page comic that way. But my wrist started hurting bad after long sessions. Picked up a basic Wacom Intuos for $80 and it feels completely different now. The pressure sensitivity alone made my coloring look way less flat. Still getting used to looking at the screen instead of my hand though. Anyone else have that weird disconnect at first?

I went through that same weird disconnect for about two weeks with my first tablet (a cheap Huion I got on sale), and I kept lifting my pen to undo like it was a mouse button. Now I can't even imagine going back, the control you get with pressure is just night and day for blending.

Oh man, @valsullivan, same here! That muscle memory switch was brutal but so worth it.
