Unpopular opinion: I think the 'digital painting' tag is getting overused on ArtStation

I was looking at two pieces in the fantasy section, one tagged digital painting and one tagged 3D render. The digital painting one was clearly a basic 3D model with a filter, while the 3D render tag was on a piece with incredible hand-painted textures over a model. The difference was honesty in the process. Has anyone else seen this trend where the tags don't match the work?

So what tags would you use for that first piece instead?

I just went with "hand painted" and "traditional media" for mine. Stuck to what was true instead of guessing the technique.

Wait, you saw a 3D render tag on something that was actually hand painted? That's wild, it's like the tags got swapped as a prank. The whole point is to know how something was made. If people just slap "digital painting" on a basic 3D model, the tag becomes useless. Makes it impossible to search for actual painted work.
