Unpopular opinion: my best digital piece came from a 20 minute sketch I almost deleted
Last month I was messing around in Procreate on my iPad at a coffee shop in Portland and made this rough 20 minute doodle of a crow on a street sign just to test a new brush pack. I almost trashed it but posted it anyway to my art account, and it got 3x the likes of a detailed piece I spent two weeks on in Photoshop. Does anyone else notice their throwaway stuff connecting way harder than the stuff they obsess over?
That whole "test a new brush pack" thing is usually what makes the good stuff happen. When you stop trying to make it perfect, your hand just moves different. The two week Photoshop piece probably had you second guessing every single stroke.
