A mod in a Hong Kong forum deleted my screenshot post and his one line reply changed how I crop everything
Back in 2019 I used to post screenshots of deleted comments from big platforms without blocking out usernames. A mod over at a Hong Kong tech forum took one down and replied, "You're doxxing the little guy, not the platform." That hit me hard because I was trying to expose censorship, not pile on random people. Now I crop every shot so only the platform's own notice or the post text shows, never a handle. I also started adding the date and the exact rule cited, because without those two things my posts just looked like gossip. Old habit was messy and angry, new habit is boring and clear, and honestly the boring version gets shared more. Anyone else had a mod call them out in a way that actually improved how they document stuff?
