Called out a fact-checker on Twitter, got shadowbanned for my trouble

Last month I flagged a post pinned to a trending topic that had a quote attributed to the wrong politician. I added the link to the primary source, no insults, just the correction. Within 4 hours my replies were invisible to anyone not following me, and my engagement dropped off a cliff. Support said my account was 'limited' after a manual review, but they never pointed to a specific rule I broke. Has anyone else had a straight factual correction get treated like harassment or misinformation?
