Got a takedown notice for a YouTube vid about local zoning meetings
Overheard the city clerk say they flagged it for 'misinformation' but it was just a recording of public comments. Anyone else getting platform requests to remove basic government footage?

18 U.S.C. Section 241 is the federal law about conspiracy against rights, and I bet whoever sent that takedown notice is dancing real close to violating it. They're basically trying to block the public record of a public meeting which is a straight up violation of the First Amendment in my book. The city clerk saying it's "misinformation" is just a smokescreen for them not wanting people to see the unflattering comments or the back and forth drama that happens at these things. A recording of public comments is about as factual as it gets, unless someone doctored it, so this is clearly about shutting down transparency. I'd file a counter notice and maybe loop in a local news station or the ACLU if they keep pushing.

Bet on that being about control, not misinformation. Lots of local governments hate having their messy public meetings broadcast where everyone can see the nonsense. Shouldn't a public record of a public meeting stay public?
