Rant: Saw a whole forum vanish when I was in Thailand
It was over a local news link. I started keeping a log of these things for groups like this one.

Yeah, I used to brush off digital archives, but seeing a forum just disappear like that really opened my eyes. Good point from @derek_hayes57 about Archive.org being a lifesaver.

Man, it's wild how much stuff just POOF vanishes online. We act like the internet is forever, but it's more like a garage sale that gets rained out. Archive.org is basically the guy with a tarp trying to save the good stuff. I lost a whole thread of car repair tips once, and I was kicking myself for not saving it. Now I screenshot anything important, because you NEVER know when the digital rug gets pulled out.
