I thought $200 on a single landing page course was a scam until my bounce rate dropped to 31%
Last month I paid $200 for a course by a guy in Portland named Marcus who only teaches landing page copy, and I was sure I wasted the cash until I ran it on my client's solar site. The first version had a bounce rate of 68% and after rewriting the headline and cutting the form fields from 7 to 3, it dropped to 31% in 9 days. Now I'm wondering if I should spend another $150 on his email sequence class or just steal the swipe file from his free PDF. Has anyone else paid for a niche course like this and actually seen numbers move, or did I just get lucky with one client?
I did the same thing with a $75 course on Google Ads for a landscaper I was helping out. The guy teaching it was some random dude from Ohio with like 400 subscribers and I figured it was a total waste. But he showed one thing about matching the ad to the exact words people type and the cost per lead got cut in half in two weeks. The other 90% of the course was stuff I already knew though, so really I paid $75 for one tip. That's kind of how these niche courses go, you're not buying the whole thing, you're buying the one part that clicks. So yeah the email class might be worth it if you actually plan to use email, but if you just want the swipe file then grab the free PDF and save your $150.
