A barista in Medellin remembered my order after 3 weeks away
I was back in El Poblado after a visa run to Bogota, and walked into the same coffee shop I used for two weeks in March. The barista, this quiet guy named Andres, just nodded and started making my usual, a cortado with oat milk and cinnamon on top. I didn't even have to say anything, which felt huge because I'm usually invisible in new cities. He said, "You came back, so you must be staying a while," and we talked for a few minutes about neighborhood spots worth checking out. Has anyone else had a local remember them like that, and did it change how you saw that place?
