Just realized I've been in 12 different countries this year alone
I was updating my travel spreadsheet and the number just hit me. I've been to 12 different countries since January, mostly bouncing around Southeast Asia. It's weird because it doesn't feel like that many, but seeing it written down makes me realize how little time I'm actually spending in each place. Has anyone else hit a number that made them question their pace?

I read a blog post about this guy who visited 15 countries in a year and said he couldn't remember half of them. Maybe it's just me but I feel like staying longer in fewer places would be better.

Twelve countries is a solid number. I get what claire_hayes35 is saying about staying longer, but for me the thrill is in the movement itself. I like getting a quick feel for a place, the main vibe, and then moving on to the next new thing. It's not about deep memories, it's about the act of seeing a lot.

Yeah I saw some travel blogger mention they hit like 20 countries in one summer and felt like they needed a vacation from their vacation. Kinda makes you wonder what's the point if you're just burning through places without letting any of it sink in.
