My coworking space in Medellin got robbed and I changed my setup completely

I was working at a spot in El Poblado last Tuesday when someone walked in and grabbed a laptop off the table next to mine while the owner was getting coffee. I used to keep my bag on the floor and my phone on the desk, now I zip everything into a lockable pouch and keep it on my lap. Anyone else switch to a cable lock or a sling bag after a close call?

This is a good question. Did the lockable pouch make you feel secure enough or did you end up trying a cable lock too? I switched to one of those compact Pacsafe bags after my phone got swiped at a coffee shop in Bangkok. The anti-theft zippers and cut-resistant strap make it a hassle but I don't leave it on the floor anymore.

Yeah, have you had any issues with the cut resistant strap getting caught on stuff @sam_wood60? That's rough about Bangkok, man. I feel for you, getting your phone lifted is a nightmare. I've been thinking about trying one of those Pacsafe bags myself.
