Serious question, I dropped $1200 on a 'nomad health insurance' plan and it's been useless.

It doesn't cover basic urgent care visits in most of the countries I've been in, only major emergencies. Has anyone found a plan that actually works for regular doctor stuff across Europe and Asia?

Welcome to the scam, buddy. You basically bought a golden ticket for a helicopter ride out of a war zone, not a plan for when you get food poisoning in Prague. My "global" plan once tried to argue a Bangkok clinic visit for strep throat wasn't urgent enough. You're better off just setting that cash on fire for warmth.

Actually had a decent experience with my plan for a bad stomach bug in Lisbon last year. Maybe it depends on the company?

Damn, they really tried to argue strep throat wasn't urgent enough? That's wild. Like what level of emergency do you need, a limb falling off before they approve a clinic visit? These plans are such a joke, they'll cover you getting airlifted out of a volcano but not a basic antibiotics script.
