Shoutout to that coworking space in Chiang Mai that made me ditch my noise-canceling headphones for good
I was at Punspace in the Nimman area last month and realized that the background chatter and clacking keyboards actually helped me focus better than silence ever did, so now I work at busy cafes instead of quiet rooms - has anyone else found that random noise beats total quiet for getting work done?

My cat once sat on my laptop during a zoom call and nobody noticed the difference.

My buddy Mark went to Punspace last year for a month and kept complaining about the noise at first. By week 2 he was hooked and now he swears he can't think straight unless there's at least three conversations going on around him.

Read somewhere that coworking spaces in Thailand are basically breeding grounds for this kind of thing. Some psychology article said people actually focus better with background chatter because their brain has something steady to tune out. Makes sense why Mark got addicted to it after a while. The first week is just your brain fighting the new environment. After that it locks in and the silence feels wrong.
