Vent: Bad internet messed up my work day in Lisbon

I rented a place near the water to work from this week, but the connection keeps cutting out. It dropped during a client meeting today, and I felt so embarrassed. How do you deal with poor internet when you're in a new city? I need to get back on track without spending too much. If you have any fixes, please let me know.

Wait, you rented a place right by the water and the internet is that bad? That's wild for a city like Lisbon. Have you tried using your phone as a hotspot as a backup? Sometimes that saves me. Maybe check for a coworking space nearby for a day pass if it doesn't get fixed. Really sucks about your meeting, that's the worst.

Rental internet often fails in pretty spots, so try finding a library or coworking space instead.

Oh man, my buddy had that exact thing happen in the mountains last year (total nightmare). He ended up doing what @adam517 said and just hotspotted from his phone for a week, which worked okay for email but not much else. The whole thing really makes you appreciate a good library.
