Hit 100 listens on a single track and it felt weird

So I checked my SoundCloud stats yesterday and one of my beats from the 'D11-04' album finally crossed 100 plays. I know that's not huge for some producers but for me it's a big deal since I've only been posting stuff for about 8 months. The track is 'Midnight Drive' which I almost didn't upload because I thought the bassline was too simple. Seeing that number pop up made me wonder if I'm overthinking my production style too much. Has anyone else noticed their smaller or simpler tracks getting more attention than the ones you spent weeks on?

Simple tracks usually hit harder, my 'Lofi Dreams' got 3k while my polished ones sit at 200.

Heard this from a buddy who makes beats - he threw together some lo-fi thing in 20 minutes, barely any layers, and it blew up on his SoundCloud. Meanwhile his big "produced" tracks with all the bells and whistles barely cracked 50 plays. Kinda wild how that works.
