Rant: My mixer decided to act like a haunted VCR right before a livestream

I was setting up for a 30 minute set on Twitch last Saturday, thinking my gear was fine from the night before. Right as I hit play on track 2, the volume fader started jumping up and down on its own like it was possessed. Spent 20 minutes reseating cables and blowing compressed air into the channels before I figured out a loose ground screw on the back was causing the glitch. Tightened it with a dime and the thing worked perfectly for the whole set. Why did it take me that long to check a dumb screw?

My buddy once spent an hour rebooting his whole setup before noticing his cat was sitting on the power strip.
