Realized my kick drum was phasing out at that warehouse show in San Salvador
I was setting up for a gig at this old warehouse in San Salvador last month, playing my album D11-04 tracks, and the kick drum just sounded hollow no matter what I did. Turns out the sub was placed too close to a concrete wall and the phase was canceling the low end completely, something I never even thought about in my home studio. Has anyone else had a venue setup totally change how your mix hits because of room physics?

Man I spent 4 hours at a club in Cleveland last year trying to figure out why my bass was disappearing on track 3. Turns out the subs were about 2 feet from a brick wall and the whole back wall was soft like a curtain. I literally had to move my whole setup 6 feet forward and it fixed everything. Made me feel like an idiot standing there with my multimeter like I knew what I was doing lol.
