Showerthought: I stopped starting tracks at bar 1 and my workflow finally clicked
I kept hitting a wall starting every project from the first bar, so three weeks ago I tried building the drop first and working backwards instead. I threw together the main synth line at 128 BPM in Ableton, then built the intro around it, and the whole track came together in about 4 hours instead of my usual 12. Something about hearing the payoff first made the buildup way easier to map out. I've done 5 tracks this way since, all in my apartment here in San Salvador. Does anyone else build backwards like this or do you still start at bar 1?
