Showerthought: I stopped using software synths on my last two tracks and my mixes finally stopped fighting me
Everyone keeps saying you need Serum or Massive to get a clean low end, but I ran my whole D11-04 closer through a Casio SK-1 I found at a thrift shop in San Salvador for $12 and the mud just disappeared. Spent about 3 weeks trying to EQ out that weird 200hz buildup before I gave up and tracked the bass live instead. The stems are up on my page if anyone wants to hear how it turned out. Is anyone else going back to cheap hardware or am I just late to this?
Man this hits home, spent way too long EQing around mud that just would not go away. That $12 SK-1 find is wild (thrift stores always have the goods if you dig long enough). Gonna go check your stems now.
