Unpopular opinion: DJs in San Salvador are sleeping on proper gain staging

I sat through 4 sets at a local club last weekend and every single one had the master channel clipping red from start to finish, how hard is it to set your input levels before you hit play? Has anyone else noticed local producers just ignoring this?

Dude yes, I was at a show last month and the bass was literally distorting so bad I couldnt tell what song was playing. The DJ just kept smiling and waving while the whole room sounded like static. I asked one of them about their levels after and they just shrugged and said "thats how it sounds live".

Oh man that reminds me of this bar I went to once where they had a "live sound guy" who kept cranking the highs until everyone's ears were bleeding. I swear the snare drum sounded like someone was hitting a trash can lid with a hammer. People were literally covering their ears and leaving. I tried to say something to the guy but he just pointed at his headphones and gave me a thumbs up. Like dude, you're the only one who thinks this sounds good.
