Why does nobody talk about how messy vinyl control is for DJing
I used to think DVS was the only clean way to mix. Then I tried it at a gig in San Salvador last month with an old set of 1200s and a dusty needle. The skipping and feedback from the floor vibration killed my whole set. Now I stick to a controller for live shows, way more reliable. Has anyone else ditched vinyl for digital at their gigs?

I played a gig in a basement in Detroit where the turntables were literally on a wooden pallet because the floor was so uneven. Every time someone stomped to the beat the needle jumped two tracks ahead. Switched to a controller mid set and never looked back. My cat still sleeps on the vinyl collection though, so theres that.

Man that sounds like a nightmare, I had a similar thing happen at a house show in Chicago where the floor was so warped my records started skipping just from people breathing. Switched to digital right after and never dealt with that crap again.
