Am I the only one who had a paint sprayer hose blow out mid-project?

I was finishing the trim in my living room with a Graco Magnum X5 when the hose connection at the gun just popped off, spraying latex paint all over my new flooring. I had to shut it off, clean up the mess with a gallon of water and a bunch of rags, and redo the whole section. What's the best way to check hose fittings before you start to avoid this disaster?

Man, a blowout on new flooring is the absolute worst, I'd be so mad. I always do a quick pressure check with just water in the system before I load any paint. Hook everything up, run it at low pressure into a bucket, and really wiggle the hose connections. If it's gonna fail, better for it to fail with water. That latex is such a pain to clean up once it dries.

Oh, that's actually a great tip for airless sprayers.
