Can we talk about people using the wrong blade for cutting laminate flooring?

I helped my buddy in Phoenix install some laminate last weekend and he was using a standard wood blade on his circular saw. The chipping was so bad we had to redo three boards. A fine tooth carbide blade makes a clean cut, but I keep seeing this same mistake. What other small tool swaps have saved you guys a ton of headache?

Save your money. A sharp standard blade works fine if you go slow.

Okay, but that's kind of missing the point. The special blades aren't just about speed, they're about getting a clean cut through tricky materials without tearing them up. Going slow with a regular blade can still leave a ragged edge on stuff like laminate or veneer. It's one of those things where the right tool just makes the job look way more professional.
