Drywall anchor fail taught me a hard lesson

I was hanging shelves in my laundry room last Saturday and used those cheap plastic anchors that came with the shelf kit. Second shelf came crashing down at 2am taking a full bottle of detergent with it. My neighbor Jerry came over the next morning and showed me how to use toggle bolts instead, even gave me a handful from his garage. Has anyone else had those plastic anchors just give up on them out of nowhere?

Toggle bolts saved my laundry shelf too. Never looked back.

Those plastic anchors are basically just MEANT for lightweight stuff like picture frames, not shelves with any real weight on them. Toggle bolts or even just hitting a stud is the ONLY way to go for anything that matters.
