Hot take: Rushing the mortar on my bathroom floor tiles was a bad idea

I used to think that letting mortar sit for just a day was enough before grouting. Last month, I retiled my bathroom floor and wanted it done fast for a party. After two days, I grouted it, and within a week, tiles near the shower were wobbly and cracking. I had to pull everything up and start over, which took another weekend. This time, I waited a solid five days for the mortar to fully set, even though it felt like forever. The floor now feels rock solid and looks perfect, with no issues after a month. It taught me that impatience can ruin hours of work in no time. Does anyone else struggle with waiting on stuff like this?

Why do we always skip the waiting part when we know it's important? It's like every project, from baking to dating, needs that set time to work right. But no, we have to poke at it early and ruin everything, just like your tiles.

My cake collapsed because I opened the oven door too soon.

Tell me about it, I totally rushed the grout on my kitchen backsplash once and it looked awful. Had to scrape it all out and wait like I should have in the first place.
