I finally painted the living room alone, but my dad couldn't stop 'helping'.

He kept coming in and redoing parts I just finished. It made the whole job take twice as long. Now the walls look patchy where he went over them. I love him, but next time I'm locking the door.

Is a little patchy paint really worth locking the door?

You ever seen how fast a small leak turns into a huge mess?

Actually, patchy paint isn't just about looks. It's the first sign of moisture getting in, which leads to rot. Once wood starts rotting, you're looking at thousands in repairs. A locked door might be the cheapest fix to stop bigger problems. Plus it shows the owner cares about upkeep, which matters for everyone nearby.
