I thought smart home stuff was just a fad for lazy people
About two years ago my brother gave me a smart plug for my birthday and I almost returned it. I figured it was just a toy, but I tried it on a lamp in the living room. Setting it to turn on at sunset every day meant I never came home to a dark house again, which was a real game changer in winter. After that, I slowly added a couple more for some outdoor lights and a coffee maker. It's not about being lazy, it's about making small things easier without thinking. Anyone else start with one simple gadget and end up with a whole setup?

Maybe he just needs a night light.

Is it funny how once you start noticing one small thing that works, your brain starts hunting for more? I got a smart plug for my Christmas lights a few years back, and now I've got three bulbs in my kitchen that dim automatically at 9pm so I don't blast my eyes when I get a glass of water. It's like how people start with one hot sauce and end up with a whole shelf. Small wins turn into habits real fast.
