Just realized my miter saw stand was the problem, not my blades
I used to think you needed a $150 Forrest blade to get clean cuts, because that is what the guy at the Woodcraft in Columbus told me during a demo day. Then last month I bolted my old Skil saw to a $40 stand I built from scrap 2x4s, and the wobble disappeared. Turns out I was fighting a flexing table the entire time, not a dull blade. Anyone else fix a cut quality issue by changing their setup instead of their tools?
Setup beats blades every time. A $40 stand you built solid will out cut a $150 blade on a wobbly table any day. I fought the same thing on my old job site saw for years. Spent way too much on blades before I figured out the table was the real problem.
