My area's full of spray paint DIYs now, and I finally caved after my bookshelf turned out great.

Check the label for outdoor use first. Some spray paints are just for inside and will peel in weeks outside. Even the outdoor ones need a clear coat with UV protection if it's in the sun all day. Learned that the hard way with some flower pots.

Consider how that spray paint holds up outside before you get too excited. Sun and rain make it peel way faster than regular outdoor paint, which is a real bummer. Stick to indoor stuff like that bookshelf where it actually lasts.

Outdoor spray paint flakes so fast... My patio chair from last year is already peeling after one season. The sun just eats through spray paint... it needs a clear coat or something. Indoor stuff like bookshelves is fine, no weather to ruin it. I'd only use spray paint outside for quick touch-ups, not for anything lasting. Such a shame, the colors are great but they don't hold up.
