My new bathroom ceiling paint started peeling after three days
I followed all the instructions on the can, primed it, waited 24 hours between coats. Then yesterday morning I found big flakes sitting on the floor. Has anyone else had trouble with paint just not sticking to a freshly dried ceiling?

Actually read somewhere that high moisture in new builds can cause this. The paint might not be the problem if the drywall wasn't fully cured before you painted. Could be the primer failing to bond with the surface if there was any dust or residue left behind. Maybe try a shellac based primer next time, it's supposed to stick better to tricky surfaces.

Oh man, @aaron896 you might be onto something there. I had this same nightmare in my own place last year. Tbh, I tried everything, even scrubbed the walls with TSP before repainting and it still peeled. What finally worked was switching to a shellac primer like you said. That stuff is no joke, it smells terrible but it bonded to the damp drywall like glue. If you're dealing with moisture, you might also want to check your humidity levels in the room first. I ran a dehumidifier for a week before painting this time and zero peeling since.
