My Saturday turned into a 12 hour fight with a bathroom vanity
Thought I could swap out the old vanity in my master bath in like 4 hours tops. Ripped the old one out fine, but the plumbing lines were about 2 inches off from the new cabinet's pre-drilled holes. Had to cut a whole new access panel in the drywall behind it to reroute a supply line. Ended up using a Dremel to notch the cabinet back just to make everything fit. Anyone got tips for checking plumbing alignment before you commit to a new vanity?

Did you try a cardboard template first? Tracing the old plumbing lines onto a template from the new cabinet saves a ton of headache. That's the only way I avoid those surprise drywall cuts.

Yeah, wish I'd asked @palmer.zara before my last kitchen looked like Swiss cheese.

Oh totally, the template thing is smart. But honestly @kim_nelson I feel like nobody talks about just checking for studs behind the old cabinets before you even buy new ones. Like if your plumbing goes through a stud you're already in for a bad time no matter how good your template is.
