And that's why my open shelves just have a single sad succulent and a stack of coasters I never use. It's like a museum display called "The Idea of Cooking." My kitchen is all for show, I'm basically living in a furniture ad where the food just magically appears.

Watched my friend's open shelves get coated in grease dust after a week of stir-fries. She ended up washing everything twice before giving up and putting doors back on. Now she laughs about her 'Pinterest fail'.
