TIL my cheap paint sprayer cost me $200 in wasted primer

It clogged every five minutes on a bedroom project, turning a weekend job into a three-day mess. Anyone have a reliable brand under $150 that actually works?

My old sprayer was a nightmare too. Switched to a Graco TrueCoat and it actually finishes the job without constant cleaning.

Been there, that's the worst. I grabbed a Wagner Flexio 590 on sale for around $130 after my old one died. It's not perfect, but for primer and basic paint it's been solid. The key is to thin the primer just a little bit, even if the can says no need. Makes a huge difference with clogs. I've done two rooms and a fence with it now and it hasn't failed me yet.

Read somewhere that even the pricier Graco models can have issues if you don't thin the paint right, so it sounds like the Wagner's pretty comparable for the money. I've heard the tip about thinning primer before, but I always forget to try it. Maybe it's just me but I feel like half the battle with these things is just getting the mix right in the first place. Good to know the Flexio can handle a fence too, that's usually where my old one would just give up.
