Found out the hard way why you never use a pressure washer on old siding
Took a cheap power washer to my 1970s cedar shake exterior last weekend in Tacoma and blew a 4 foot hole straight through the rotted section behind the gutters. The guy at the rental place even warned me, but I figured he was just upselling the soft wash kit. Anybody else deal with hidden water damage showing up mid-project?
A 4 foot hole from a pressure washer is wild, I keep picturing you standing there watching cedar shake just vanish into the yard. That rental guy probably felt sick watching you drive off with it, since he knew exactly what was hiding back there. Old houses love to keep their rot a secret until you poke it.
