Honestly, my neighbor's shed collapse in a thunderstorm two summers ago taught me more about foundation prep than any video.

Real failure teaches lessons that perfect success never can.

Best of luck with the whole failure teaching lessons idea, but sometimes a win is the ONLY thing that builds real confidence. I had a project where I nailed every step and didn't learn a thing from messing up, and that success let me push into bigger stuff without second guessing myself. Perfect success gives you momentum and trust in your own skills, which feels a lot more useful than spending months trying to figure out what went wrong.

My uncle in Florida built his own dock and watching the pilings shift over five years showed me how water changes everything. That shed collapse probably showed you how wind and rain find every weak spot in a base. It makes you realize a foundation isn't just about the ground it sits on, but what comes at it from all sides. A video can't give you that gut feeling of seeing a structure fail in real time.
