Stripped a screw in my joist hanger, fixed it with a $6 trick
In my crawlspace outside Tulsa I cross-threaded a lag bolt and spent 2 hours drilling it out, but wedging a rubber band into the socket finally grabbed it, so has anyone else pulled that off or did I just get lucky?

How stripped was it? Been there on a deck job and that rubber band thing works more often than people give it credit for.
