TIL I've been mixing thinset wrong for 10 years
A tile pro at the supply house told me I need to let it slake for 10 minutes before mixing again, and my last bathroom floor came out way flatter. Why do none of the bag instructions mention that step clearly? Anyone else skip this and get lumpy results?

I always figured the "let it rest" step was just the thinset taking a break from my bad attitude. Turns out that 10 minute slake kept me from having to shave down humps with a grinder, go figure. How many bags did I waste staring at lumpy mud and wondering where I went wrong?

Yeah I used to think slaking was bro science but man it really does flatten things out.
