Try to tile a backsplash without spacers and see what happens
I thought I could eyeball the gaps on my kitchen backsplash and save $8 on spacers. Turns out my lines are so crooked it looks like a funhouse mirror in there. Anybody know if I can just rip it all out and start over without wrecking the drywall?

Rent a puller bar from Home Depot and you can pop most of those tiles off without killing the drywall, just go slow and work from the edges. Are you using fresh thinset or does yours still feel kind of gritty and dry in the bucket? If it's set for more than a day you're gonna have a bad time prying things loose and might end up patching holes anyway.

Probably worth checking if the thinset has a skin on it before you get too far. If it's still soft underneath you can scrape it clean but if it's hard all the way through you're better off just cutting the drywall out and putting a fresh piece in. Saves you a headache later.
