Unpopular opinion: painting trim before installing is a waste of time
I spent last weekend pre-painting all my baseboards before nailing them up, figuring it would save me from crawling around on the floor. But after cutting and fitting each piece, I ended up touching up every single joint anyway because the caulk and nail holes wrecked the finish. Has anyone else found a way to make pre-painting actually work without double the work?

Prime the cut ends before installing... saves a lot of touch up later.
