Warning: that cheap floor leveler from Home Depot ruined my tile job
I spent last Saturday trying to level a 10x12 foot section in my kitchen in Denver before laying tile. The guy at the counter said the $18 bucket of leveler would be fine, but it cracked in 3 places after just 2 days. Now I have to pull up 6 tiles and redo the whole corner. Has anyone else had this problem with that brand?

I mean, is it really that big of a deal? A couple cracks in a floor leveler after two days sounds more like a prep problem than a product problem to me. Did you actually prime the concrete first or check the temperature range on the bucket? Denver houses are all over the place with humidity and slab moisture, that stuff can mess with curing time. I've used cheap leveler from the same store on a few bathroom floors and it held up fine, but I also mix it a little on the wet side and do thin layers. Maybe the guy at the counter just figured you knew what you were doing?
