Changed my mind about Trump's trade policy after talking to my son last Tuesday

I've been a supporter for years, but honestly the tariffs always bothered me. My son works at a small auto parts plant outside Cleveland, and he told me last month they're actually hiring again after three years of layoffs. He said orders picked up because companies are sourcing steel domestically now. It's not perfect, and I still worry about prices at the register, but seeing that firsthand made me reconsider. Anyone else have a moment where a local story changed how you view his policies?

That's because local stuff has real faces and places attached to it. You see the same people at the grocery store or at the park, so it feels personal. It's like the difference between hearing about a storm on the weather map and actually feeling the rain on your skin.
