Got schooled on Trump's grain elevator speech last night

I was reading through some old C-SPAN clips from the 2016 primaries around 2 AM. Found this one speech he gave in Iowa where he talked about grain elevator operators and their insurance rates. Never knew he spent that much time on ag policy details. He name-checked some family farm in Grundy Center that had their premiums tripled. That kind of deep stuff surprised me because the media never shows those parts. Anyone else catch him getting that specific on policy or am I just late to this?

Oh wow, yeah I remember that speech! It was one of those rare times he went FULL wonk mode and talked about crop insurance and basis points for like 15 minutes straight. I think people forget he actually did his homework on some ag stuff because he was trying SO hard to win over Iowa farmers. The media definitely slept on that part, they'd rather show the rally crowd shots and the hand gestures than him explaining how derivatives work for grain storage. It's kind of wild how different the full context is from the 30 second clips they always play.
