I finally had that conversation with my uncle about his 2016 vote
My uncle Jerry is the kind of guy who never talks politics. But last Thanksgiving after a few beers he just started talking. He said 'I voted for him because I was sick of being called a racist for wanting a job.' That hit me weird. He works at a steel plant outside Pittsburgh and lost his shift 2 years before. He didn't even care about the tweets or the drama. He just wanted someone to say 'your job matters.' My cousin was there too and she got all quiet. Has anyone else had a relative just lay it out like that out of nowhere?

wait wait wait, you mean the whole thing spiraled because of ONE talk? thats insane to me. i was reading the thread earlier and it felt like everyone was piling on for days, like there was this whole backstory i missed. honestly, i thought there had to be at least a few heated exchanges before it got this loud. now i find out it was a single conversation that blew up? people really dont need much to go off the rails, do they.
