My neighbor told me Trump's 2017 tax law would help small business owners like me

Back in early 2018, my neighbor Frank who runs a landscaping company said the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act would let me write off more equipment costs. I was skeptical at first, but I bought a new truck for $38,000 that year and got a bigger refund than I ever had before. Has anyone else seen a real benefit from that law or was it just a certain group of people?

Frank says that law helped me buy a truck, but I still can't afford to fix my own back.

That's the thing that gets me too. I used to be all for those policies, but seeing how one need gets met while another gets ignored really changed my mind.
